Ambient air temperature and relative humidity measured with a Vaisala probe mounted on top of cabinet on east wall of metrology lab.
DEWK | Dry Bulb Temperature and Relative Humidity (MetLab Main & Shield) | oC % |
08/09/2016 | - | A69029 | N/A |
Ambient air temperature and relative humidity measured with a Fluke 1620A "DEWK" thermo-hygrometer. A CR800 data logger reads from DEWK every 1 second using the RS-232 port to produce 1 minute averages. Probe for Main is located in north west corner of MetLab (above shield room door) and the probe for the sheild room is located on south wall about 10 feet above the ground.

[Maint] |
Measured by a 3-cup anemometer and wind vane mounted 19 feet above ground level attached to the west side of the instrument deck. Anemometer is measured in parallel with SRRL Baseline Measurement System (BMS) every 3-seconds. Peak Wind Speed was also recorded, which is the maximum 3-second anemometer reading during the 1-minute interval.
- | WS 50 and 60 MPH Event Alert (Count) | counts | 05/21/2015 | - | - | - |
The number of times a back-to-back 3-second reading exceeded the 50 or 60 MPH threshold during the 1 minute period. As of 9/1/2016, the wind speed at 22 feet is used instead of 19 feet and sample rate is 2-second (instead of 3).
- | WS 50 and 60 MPH Event Alert (Flag) | counts | 05/21/2015 | - | - | - |
The flag is set to 1, when a back-to-back 3-second reading exceeded the 50 or 60 MPH threshold during the 1 minute period. The flag is held at 1 until no more events occur for 30 minutes, then it returns to 0. During the same period that these two flags are set to 1, two corresponding data logger control ports are set high (5 Volts). As of 9/1/2016, the wind speed at 22 feet is used instead of 19 feet and sample rate is 2-second (instead of 3), also control ports are no longer set high.
- | CR800 Process Time (Maximum) | s | 09/15/2015 | - | - | - |
The maximum time it took for the CR800 (for solar trackers) to execute its program during the 1-minute interval. The program is currently scheduled to run every 1 second, therefore value should not exceed 1 second.
2AP Brusag STR23G |
Clock Status Code | varies | 09/15/2015 | - | - | - |
The CR800 data logger (and a multiplexer) is used to check and maintain solar tracker clocks using RS-232 communication, the status codes reported by the data logger are as follows:
Note: As of July 12, 2017 the BORCAL trackers were upgraded from Brusag to EKO STR32G. The data logger will not attempt to set the STR23G time, since its maintained by GPS. |

LFI-3525 | LI-1800 TEC Status | varies | 12/01/2015 | 09/14/2017 | - | - |
NREL has modified the LICOR LI-1800 spectroradiometers with a TEC mounted on the Silicon detector housing to maintain a constant temperature. The TEC Controler (Model LFI-3525) has analog outputs to monitor the status of the system, including current temperature (thermistor mounted on Si photodiode case), setpoint temperature, TEC current, etc.

[Maint] |
Research channels used for testing various instruments at different times. Output could be a voltage or engineering units. Channel is usually shorted (output at zero) when not in use. Further information is available on the Research Channel History page. Measured using a Campbell Scientific CR1000X s/n 1085 & s/n 1086 or CR3000 s/n 5391
DCU060100 | SRRL Power | VAC | 08/30/2018 | - | - | 156.41 VAC/VDC |
Monitor of AC Line Power calculated by measuring output of 6V AC/DC unregulated power adapter (Jameco DCU060100). Power supply output is loaded with a 25 Ohm/25 Watt resitor to blead off rectifier capasitor during power brownouts/blackouts. A 10:1 voltage divider is used to measure voltage using staging area datalogger. Data sample rate is approx 30 milliseconds with the 1 minute average, minimum, and maximum reported. Please note that the min/max will measure the typical ripple from rectifier.
Symmetricom Trimble |
GPS Time Offsets | s | 01/14/2024 | - | - | - |
Time offset between data logger clock and one or more local GPS-based NTP servers as reported by Campbell's NetworkTimeProtocol() function. Note: This function is not used to adjust clock (LoggerNet maintains the clock). This is used to verify NTP servers are functional and in agreement (at least to the accuracy of the NetworkTimeProtocol() function). Clocks are only checked once an hour during non-daylight hours. |
