1AODSTAC1S1 and 10-Minute Aerosol Optical Depth (AOD) measurements
  • Raw direct normal data is sampled by Prede POM-02 every 1 minute and a raw zenith/azimuth scan is sampled every 10 minutes. Raw data is sent to ESR every hour for data processing.
  • The ESR has two methods (each with two levels) for proccessing data, the SkyNet SkyRad Method and the ESR SunRad Method.
  • Each method has two data streams (level 0 and 1.1) which are grabbed by MIDC once a day (2 hours after midnight) from the ESR web site and converted to "classic" Campbell data logger format so that it can be made available on the MIDC web site. Resulting sample rate will be as frequent as every 1 minute for ESR method and 10 minute for SkyNet method.
  • Data processing at ESR can take a few days for Level 0 and a few months for Level 1.1. ESR does not process data from the 315, 940, 1627, and 2200nm wavelengths.
  • The Level 1.1 data set is of higher quality than level 0. ESR reprocesses all the Level 0 data at the end of each month using a new solar calibration constant to produce the Level 1.1 data.
  • Please visit the ESR website for an introduction, methodology, and further information regarding the data processsing.
