- 16:29 MST: SRRL BMS Monthly Wind Rose Statistics from July 2015 through May 2017 have been regenerated using corrected wind data as mentioned in today's 9:06 MST news item. -Afshin Andreas
- 15:47 MST: SRRL BMS Monthly Data and Reports (CSV&PDF) from July 2015 through May 2017 have been regenerated using corrected wind data as mentioned in today's 9:06 MST news item. -Afshin Andreas
- 09:06 MST: SRRL BMS Daily Wind Speed data (22', 42', and shear) from 07/01/2015 @ 08:48 to 05/12/2017 23:59 have been corrected. See the data quality statement for this time frame for more details. -Afshin Andreas
- 17:08 MST: The SRRL BMS Instrument Mounting Locations PDF file has been updated to show changes that occured with BMS version 14.0. -Afshin Andreas
- 12:17 MST: SRRL BMS Monthly TMY3 data for September through November 2017 have been generated. -Afshin Andreas
- 11:35 MST: Regenerated SRRL BMS Monthly TMY3 data from May through August 2017, so that uses wind measurements at 19ft level (instead of hail damaged 42ft level). -Afshin Andreas
- 10:44 MST: September through November 2017 Monthly Data Sets & Reports/Plots for SRRL BMS have been generated. (Excluding TMY3 data) -Afshin Andreas
- 16:26 MST: SRRL BMS was upgraded to v14.0 at 13:27 MST today. Changes include:
- Add Global Shortwave sensors: Apogee SP-510 and EKO MS-80
- Add Global UVA: Solar Light 501A
- Add Downwelling Longwave: Apogee SL-510
- Add Moisture Sensor
- Replace Diffuse CMP11 with Diffuse SR25
- Replace 42 ft level wind sensors with 33 ft level sensors.

- 15:11 MST: The SRRL BMS Global Normal CMP11 was upgraded to a CMP22 at 15:08 MST today. -Afshin Andreas
- 14:47 MST: The SRRL BMS Upwelling CM21 was upgraded to a CMP11 at 14:34 MST today. -Afshin Andreas
- 11:33 MST: The SRRL BMS Diffuse CMP11 was permanently removed from service at 11:31 MST today. It will be replaced with a Diffuse SR25 w/upgraded SR30 thermopile during the next BMS upgrade. -Afshin Andreas
- 10:59 MST: The SRRL BMS Global SR25 was replaced a new SR25 with upgraded SR30 detector element at 10:45 MST. The SR30 detector element is less noisy. Also at this time the Hukseflux temperature correction was applied using the SR25 case temperature. Finally the DR02 is now using the SR25 case temperature instead of air temperature for its correction. Until the next BMS data steam upgrade the following diagnostic values are recorded in research fields: SR25 TP(mV) = Research Post 0 and SR25 Case T(K) = Research Thm 3. -Afshin Andreas
- 15:37 MST: The SRRL BMS Wind Speed and Direction at 42 foot has been permanently removed from service. During the next BMS upgrade the 42 foot level will be replaced by a 33 foot (10 meter) level. At 12:16 MST today, new anemometers and wind vanes were installed at the 22 and 33 foot levels on the existing NRG 46 foot tower located in the Sun Edison Field. -Afshin Andreas
- 13:02 MST: At 11:36 MST, the SRRL BMS SE-POA LI-200 sensor was replaced with a sensor calibrated in BORCAL 2017-02. Calibration factor was updated in logger at 11:54 MST. -Afshin Andreas
- 16:22 MST: New MIDC Feature: Time series plots now can be changed to show thick lines for the measurement data using the plot options feature at the bottom of the plot. This also applies to the station comparison. -Afshin Andreas
- 14:40 MST: The SRRL WISER Spectroradiometer was changed back to the global horizontal orientation at 14:20 MST today. -Afshin Andreas
- 14:43 MST: The SRRL BMS UV-S-A-T sensor has failed. It caused 3 minutes of data loss to all BMS sensors on the deck for 3 minutes (13:40 through 13:42 MST) until it's power supply could be unplugged. The UV-S-B-T sensor is on this power supply as well so it is also down. Problem will be investigated tomorrow. -Afshin Andreas
- 08:45 MST: The SRRL BMS Global CUVA1 and CUVB1 has been permanently removed from service. They are obsolete instruments and they have a very narrow UVA and UVB response. The CUVA1 will be replaced by a Solar Light 501-UVA during the next BMS Upgrade. -Afshin Andreas
- 07:40 MST: The SRRL WISER Spectroradiometer was changed to the global normal orientation at 7:40 MST today. -Afshin Andreas
- 07:29 MST: Communication has been lost with SolarTAC. The station may be without power and the battery is bad. -Afshin Andreas
- 10:29 MST: The SRRL WISER scan rate has been changed from 1 back to 5 minute intervals at 10:20 MST. -Afshin Andreas
- 11:54 MST: The SRRL WISER data has from 10/3/2017 08:33 MST through 10/4/2017 09:31 MST has been corrected to account for the wavelength dependent window correction factor. -Afshin Andreas
- 09:38 MST: The window correction factor for the SRRL WISER direct normal tubes was accidently shut off from 10/3/2017 08:33 MST through 10/4/2017 09:31 MST, data should not be used until it is corrected in the near future. -Afshin Andreas
- 13:57 MST: The SRRL Global 1-Axis LI-1800 Spectroradiometer has been replaced by an EKO MS-710 and MS-712, it is operational as of 13:50 MST today. -Afshin Andreas
- 09:45 MST: The SRRL WISER Spectroradiometer was changed to the direct normal orientation at 7:20 MST today. -Afshin Andreas
- 14:29 MST: June through August 2017 Monthly Data Sets & Reports/Plots for SRRL BMS have been generated. -Afshin Andreas
- 13:12 MST: The SRRL WISER Spectroradiometer was changed to the global normal orientation at 13:00 MST today. -Afshin Andreas
- 13:49 MST: As of 13:31 MST the SolarSG software for the SRRL SolarSIM-D2+ was upgraded to v3.1. All on-the-fly generated spectral data will now use the new version. However for the broad band data (Direct Normal, PWV, AOD, Ozone), the change is only effective starting today @ 13:31 MST. Also the SolarSG software available for download on MIDC has also been updated. -Afshin Andreas
- 12:51 MST: The SRRL WISER Spectroradiometer was changed to the global horizontal orientation at 12:28 MST today. -Afshin Andreas
- 14:39 MST: The wireless Ethernet failed at the NWTC M2 shed at 8:48 MST today, data will not update until it is repaired. -Afshin Andreas
- 11:13 MST: The SRRL WISER Spectroradiometer was changed to the global normal orientation at 9:49 MST today. -Afshin Andreas
- 06:07 MST: The SRRL WISER scan rate has been changed from 5 to 1 minute intervals. -Afshin Andreas
- 11:18 MST: The SRRL WISER Spectroradiometer was moved to the direct normal orientation at 10:15 MST today. -Afshin Andreas
- 16:42 MST: The SRRL LI-1800 Global 1-Axis spectroradiometer was removed from service at 9:20 MST until further notice. -Afshin Andreas
- 16:25 MST: The wireless Ethernet failed at the NWTC M2 shed at 12:24 MST today, data will not update until it is repaired. -Afshin Andreas
- 11:07 MST: The SRRL MS-701 and MS-710 (part of MS-7XX aka WISER Spectroradiometer System) was upgraded to an MS-711, yesterday @ 17:25 MST. -Afshin Andreas
- 12:59 MST: The SRRL BMS rain gauge was upgraded with a Campbell Scientific TB4 at approx. 11:00 MST today. -Afshin Andreas
- 18:51 MST: The SRRL BMS Precipitation sensor was temporarily removed from service at approx. 14:00 MST for relocation and upgrade. Sensor will always read zero until it returns to service. -Afshin Andreas
- 09:41 MST: The NWTC M2 tower was dropped on yesterday from approx. 7 to 10:30 MST, so that the temperature probes, wind speed and direction sensors could replaced. Calibration constants for new temperature and wind speed sensors were updated in logger program at 9:00 MST today (after wireless Ethernet was repaired). -Afshin Andreas
- 15:21 MST: The wireless Ethernet failed at the NWTC M2 shed at 08:47 MST today, data will not update until it is repaired. -Afshin Andreas
- 11:02 MST: The SRRL PGS-100 Direct Spectroradiometer has been down since Aug 10 @ 13:20 MST. Problem unknown at this time. -Afshin Andreas
- 09:23 MST: The SRRL BMS Upwelling IR PIR was swapped out with an instrument calibrated in BORCAL LW 2017-03 between 9:07 and 9:09 MST today, factors were updated in logger program @ 9:10 MST today. -Afshin Andreas
- 14:10 MST: The SRRL BMS Upwelling IR CG3 was swapped out with an instrument calibrated in BORCAL LW 2017-03 between 13:54 and 13:56 MST today, factors were updated in logger program @ 13:56 MST today. -Afshin Andreas
- 10:02 MST: The SRRL BMS Downwelling IR PIR and CG4 were swapped out with instrument calibrated in BORCAL LW 2017-03 between 9:33 and 9:47 MST today, factors were updated in logger program @ 9:39 MST today. -Afshin Andreas
- 15:03 MST: The SRRL BMS Shadowband PSP was replaced with an 8-48 @ 14:39 MST today. Factor was updated in logger at 14:45 MST. -Afshin Andreas
- 15:18 MST: The following SRRL BMS Radiometer Tower instruments were swapped out today between 14:45 and 15:02 MST with sensors calibrated in BORCAL SW 2017-02: Upwelling CM21, CM3 & LI-200; Global 40-South CMP11 & LI-200; Global Normal CMP11 & LI-200R. Factors were updated in logger at 15:04 MST for CM21 and 15:01 MST for all others. -Afshin Andreas
- 15:29 MST: May 2017 Monthly Data Sets & Reports/Plots for SRRL BMS have been generated. -Afshin Andreas
- 12:30 MST: The SRRL BMS Diffuse CM22 Primary and Diffuse CMP11 were swapped out with instruments calibrated in BORCAL 2017-02 at 12:14 MST today. No data loss occurred for the CM22 Primary (because data was automatically replaced with data from the CM22 Secondary). -Afshin Andreas
- 10:28 MST: At 8:46 MST today the SRRL BMS UVB-1 was swapped with a spare UVB-1. The primary UVB-1 along with a spare CUV4 will be sent to Davos for the International UV Filter Radiometer comparison 2017. -Afshin Andreas
- 15:54 MST: As of June 6 at 14:25:20 MST, the broad band values (DNI, AOD, PWV, O3) from the SolarSG model are now calculated through MIDC post processing and merged real time with the SRRL SolarSIM-D2+ raw data collected by the Campbell data logger. -Afshin Andreas
- 08:14 MST: All SRRL BMS Global UVB radiometers were calibrated on 6/8/2017, this includes: UV-S-B-T, CUVB1, MS210W, UVB-1, and 501A. Logger was updated with new factors at 8:09 MST today. -Afshin Andreas
- 13:09 MST: The SRRL BMS Diffuse 8-48 instrument was swapped out with an instrument calibrated in BORCAL 2017-02 at 13:06 MST today. No data loss occurred for the 8-48 (because data was automatically replaced with data from the Diffuse CM22 Primary). -Afshin Andreas
- 12:02 MST: The SRRL BMS Global 90-East has been intermittent since May 25, problem unknown at this time. -Afshin Andreas
- 16:13 MST: March and April 2017 Monthly Data Sets & Reports/Plots for SRRL BMS have been generated. -Afshin Andreas
- 16:43 MST: The SRRL BMS Direct Normal PGS-100 Spectroradiometer was calibrated on May 12. Calibration File was updated in data logger today @ 16:45 MST. -Afshin Andreas
- 07:30 MST: The SRRL BMS Direct UVB failed at 00:59 MST today, problem unknown at this time. -Afshin Andreas
- 12:05 MST: The SRRL BMS Diffuse CM22 Secondary instrument was swapped out with an instrument calibrated in BORCAL 2017-01 at 11:59 MST today. No data loss occurred for the CM22 Secondary (because data was automatically replaced with data from the CM22 Primary). -Afshin Andreas
- 15:24 MST: The SRRL BMS HMP-60 Temp/RH Probe (DataLab) was swapped out with a calibrated sensor at 15:20 MST today. -Afshin Andreas
- 09:00 MST: The SRRL BMS HMP-60 Temp/RH Probe (SunEdison) was swapped out with a calibrated sensor at 08:43 MST today -Afshin Andreas
- 11:59 MST: The SRRL BMS RM Young Wind Sets at 6' and 19' are operational at 11:00 MST today, they were replaced with spares. -Afshin Andreas
- 08:28 MST: The SRRL 1-Axis LI-1800 spectroradiometer is operational at 08:15 MST today. The old diffuser was removed and pushed back out from the opposite side. -Afshin Andreas
- 11:31 MST: The SRRL BMS Global Normal LI-200R is operational at 10:51 MST. It was replaced with the calibration spare. -Afshin Andreas
- 16:06 MST: SRRL BMS deck data logger program was updated on May 8 at 16:58 MST today with new calibration factors for instruments that were calibrated in BORCAL SW 2017-01, this includes Globals: CMP22 (vent), CMP22 #1, CMP22 #2, CMP11, CM6b, CM3, SR25, MS802, MS410, MS602, SPP, PSP, GPP, TSP-700, SPN1, SPLite2, ML-01, LI-200R, LI-200, SP-110; Directs: CHP1 #1, CHP1 #2, sNIP, NIP, DR02, MS-56, LI-201. -Afshin Andreas
- 09:46 MST: The SRRL BMS Global Horiz TUVR was repaired (the broken signal cable was replaced). -Afshin Andreas
- 08:34 MST: There was a major hail storm at SRRL yesterday at 14:00 MST. The following damaged occurred:
- SRRL SkyCam protective dome destroyed, camera has been removed from service.
- Global Normal LI-200R and Global Horiz TUVR reading bogus.
- All Wind Speed and Wind Direction sensors may have sustained damage.
- Global 1-Axis LI-1800 spectroradiometer dome bashed in, data collection shutdown today
- SRRL SkyCam protective dome destroyed, camera has been removed from service.
- 14:56 MST: All SRRL BMS Global UV-Total and UVA radiometers were calibrated on 4/13/2017, this includes: CUV4, TUVR, UV-S-A-T, and CUVA1. Logger was updated with new factors at 15:06 MST on 4/14/2017. -Afshin Andreas
- 10:13 MST: February 2017 Monthly Data Sets & Reports/Plots for SRRL BMS have been generated. -Afshin Andreas
- 09:58 MST: SRRL 1-Axis LI-1800 data collection restarted at 09:25 MST today, so far the instrument is working. -Afshin Andreas
- 13:15 MST: The SRRL 1-Axis LI-1800 spectroradiometer has failed (wavelength drive is not synchronizing), instrument has been shutdown until further notice. -Afshin Andreas
- 08:22 MST: The SRRL ATI was shutdown yesterday, please use the newer SRRL RSR2. -Afshin Andreas
- 13:54 MST: January 2017 Monthly Data Sets & Reports/Plots for SRRL BMS have been generated. -Afshin Andreas
- 10:41 MST: The SRRL LI-1800 1-Axis Spectroradometer was returned to service at 10:35 MST today (it was originally removed from service so that the solar tracker could be used for another purpose). -Afshin Andreas
- 17:30 MST: SRRL BMS Monthly reports for January 2015 through December 2016 (both CSV and PDF format) have been regenerated to account for the new flag 21 generated by MIDC QA (this applies to NON-SERIQC tested instruments only). -Afshin Andreas
- 16:08 MST: The sonic transducer for the SRRL BMS snow depth sensor has been replaced and is operational again. -Afshin Andreas
- 12:32 MST: December 2016 Monthly Data Sets & Reports/Plots for SRRL BMS have been generated. -Afshin Andreas
