- 16:02 MST: The SRRL BMS Instrument Mounting Locations PDF file has been updated to show changes that occured with BMS version 11. -Afshin Andreas
- 13:28 MST: Data from a Prede POM-01 7-channel photometer is now available in the SRRL BMS data stream. Data is available since 10/16/2008. -Afshin Andreas
- 08:59 MST: The option to check all shortwave global horizontal, direct or diffuse instruments has been added to the MIDC daily data and plots page. This is useful for sites such as SRRL BMS, which have a large magnitude of "like" instruments. -Afshin Andreas
- 08:57 MST: A new feature to rescale the axis on a daily time-series plot has been added. The user can adjust both the primary and secondary axis, as well as the x-axis (in increments of 1 hour). When viewing a plot, the user can type in the desired number in one or all six range boxes then click "Rescale". Note: Use the word "auto" or any non-numeric to return to the default scaling for an instrument (mixed auto and user scaling is allowed). -Afshin Andreas
- 11:13 MST: There was a planned power outage at SRRL on Saturday November 15, 2008; SRRL BMS downtimes varied and are as follows:
- 7:45 to 14:29 MST: TSP-1, TSP-700, UVSAT, UVSBT, CUVA1, CUVA2, CUVB1, CUVB2, UVB-1, 501A, MS210, SPN1, Snow Depth, TSI-880, SkyCam.
- 14:02 to 14:32 MST: Direct CH1, NIP1, NIP2, LI201, TWC500, CUV4 (none pointing at sun); Diffuse 8-48, CM22, PSP, CUV4, DW-PIR, DW-CG4 (all unshaded).
- 7:45 to 15:15 MST: PGS100 Direct Spectroradiometer
- 11/15/08 8:05 to 11/17/08 9:15 MST: LI-1800 Global 40 Spectroradiometer.
- 09:38 MST: There is an occasional drastic noise problem with the SRRL BMS TSP-700, which started showing up 9/26/2008. The problem will be invesitaged. -Afshin Andreas
- 11:31 MST: The SRRL BMS Global Apogee sensor was replaced with a new instrument today. The old sensor had degredation problems. Note: Apogee has renamed this instrument model from PYR-P to SP-110. The SRRL BMS Global Yankee UVB-1 sensor was also replaced with a spare unit. The old unit had a minor problem with the dome. Data logger was updated at 10:37 MST today with new calibration factors. -Afshin Andreas
- 09:21 MST: The SRRL Global Horizontal LI-1800 Spectroradiometer was removed from service yesterday @ 7:52 MST, calibrated against NIST F597, and returned to service @ 10:03 MST yesterday. -Afshin Andreas
- 07:38 MST: The SRRL BMS SunFollower III tracker was permenently removed from service on October 1. The CUVA2 and CUVB2 instruments were moved to Sci-Tec #1. The NIP #1, NIP RG780, TWC 500nm Photometer, and LI-201 were moved to Sci-Tec #2 tracker. -Afshin Andreas
- 17:30 MST: The SRRL BMS Meterological/PV Tower was moved about 20 feet to the north east today from 10:14 to 12:41 MST, there is no wind speed/direction data at the 22 and 42 foot levels during that time. -Afshin Andreas
- 08:15 MST: The SRRL AOCS was shutdown and removed from service on September 30, 2008. -Afshin Andreas
- 14:09 MST: The SRRL BMS Direct LI-201 was returned to service on 9/23/2008 @ 14:00 MST. New calibration factor was entered into the logger at 14:07 MST today. -Afshin Andreas
- 15:25 MST: The SRRL BMS meteorological tower instantaneous data stream has been permanently removed. The 3-second data streams from the instrument deck and the radiometer tower now provides all the necessary data. -Afshin Andreas
- 10:30 MST: The SRRL BMS instantaneous data streams have been upgraded to include wind speed/direction on the instrument deck, to accommodate the future removal of the instantaneous data stream from the meteorological tower. Note: The 3-second instantaneous data stream is only available internal to NREL. -Afshin Andreas
- 14:09 MST: The SRRL BMS Snow Depth sensor was re-installed on the Radiometer Tower @ 14:06 MST today. -Afshin Andreas
- 10:12 MST: The SRRL PGS-100 Direct Normal Spectroradiometer was moved to a temporary stand on the instrument deck today. There was no data collected from 8:30 through 10:05 MST today. -Afshin Andreas
- 12:47 MST: A new temperature and RH sensor was installed on the SRRL BMS Radiometer Tower on Sept 3. This sensor will serve as the reference meteorological sensor for SRRL and has been named "Tower". The old sensor, which was previously named "Tower" is now called "PV". -Afshin Andreas
- 12:45 MST: The SRRL BMS Wind Speed @ 10' has been perminently removed from service at 11:17 MST today. -Afshin Andreas
- 11:09 MST: The SRRL BMS instantaneous data streams have been upgraded due to instrumentation being moving from the meteorological tower to the radiometer tower. The data stream will be upgraded again, once intrumentation has been removed from the meteorological tower. Note: The 3-second instantaneous data stream is only available internal to NREL. -Afshin Andreas
- 15:40 MST: The SRRL BMS Direct LI-201 was removed at 13:51 MST due to an instrument water leak. The instrument's channel is currently shorted. -Afshin Andreas
- 15:11 MST: The SRRL Baseline Measurement System is currently undergoing upgrade, due a required relocation of the BMS meteorological tower. Due to the complexity of the transition, the upgrade will occur in stages. The data stream was upgraded on 9/1/2008 to accommodate this upgrade; however some of the field outputs will be missing until the new instrumentation is installed. Also some fields will be renamed to research channels as sensors are removed. -Afshin Andreas
- 13:52 MST: The SRRL BMS Snow Depth Sensor was removed at 13:47 MST today. Snow Depth values (and quality indicator) are currently set to zero. The instrument must be permenently re-located due to construction on the mesa top. -Afshin Andreas
- 13:50 MST: OTF Global 40-South Spectral data is now available from a EKO MS-700 Spectroradiometer. Data is available since 8/20/2008. Instrument is mounted on the roof of the OTF building at a 40-degree south tilt. -Afshin Andreas
- 09:49 MST: The calculated Direct Normal Total-UV was added to the SRRL BMS datastream at 09:17 MST today. The direct is calculated using the Global and Diffuse CUV4 instruments. -Afshin Andreas
- 13:44 MST: A Diffuse Total-UV Kipp & Zonen CUV4 has been added to SRRL BMS as of 13:29 MST today. -Afshin Andreas
- 12:57 MST: SRRL Direct Normal Spectral data is now available from a Prede PGS-100 Spectroradiometer. Data is available since 8/6/2008. Instrument has a dedicated tracker, which is temporarily located on the south pad, but will be later moved to the instrument platform. -Afshin Andreas
- 11:16 MST: A Global Total-UV Kipp & Zonen CUV4 has been added to SRRL BMS as of 10:38 MST today. -Afshin Andreas
- 14:06 MST: SRRL BMS Data from the Diffuse UVB-1 (irradiance and temperature) since 1/1/2006 have been moved to Reseach Fields 0 and 1, respectively. -Afshin Andreas
- 12:44 MST: The SRRL BMS Diffuse YES UVB-1 was perminently removed from service at 11:36 MST today. The instrument will be replaced later with a Diffuse Kipp & Zonen CUV4 (Total UV). -Afshin Andreas
- 10:58 MST: The NWTC M2 5nm wind speed sensor was swapped with another sensor at 7:50 MST today. The old sensor had intermittent peak wind spikes. The logger was updated with new multiplier and offset at 10:50 MST today. -Afshin Andreas
- 09:33 MST: The Zebra PSP has been added to the SRRL BMS data stream, data is available since 05/25/2007. The insrument was previously on a BMS research channel. Also, the Direct TUVR has been officially decommisioned; data from this instrument is only available prior to 01/01/2006. -Afshin Andreas
- 13:22 MST: The SRRL BMS Diffuse shadowband (not PSP instrument) was swapped with a newer shadowband setup today between 11:50 and 13:12 MST. The old band was no longer black. -Afshin Andreas
- 08:36 MST: The NWTC M2 Global PSP was swapped with a calibrated instrument at 7:44 MST today. The logger program was updated with the new calibration factor at 8:33 MST today. -Afshin Andreas
- 12:41 MST: Coefficients for replacement temperature sensors at NWTC M2 were entered into the logger program today @ 12:39 MST. -Afshin Andreas
- 15:23 MST: The NWTC M2 wind speed, wind direction, and temperature sensors were swapped out with calibrated instruments today from 7:44 to 13:53 MST. The multipliers and offsets for the wind speed sensors were updated in the logger at 15:16 MST today. -Afshin Andreas
- 15:10 MST: The Sun Spot One (SS1), San Luis Valley has been added to the MIDC. Data is available since June 10, 2008. -Afshin Andreas
- 14:52 MST: Added new feature to MIDC daily data plots, that allows user to click "download data" link, which will download the ASCII data for the instruments shown on current plot. -Afshin Andreas
- 12:40 MST: May and June 2008 Monthly Data Sets & Reports/Plots for SRRL BMS have been generated. -Afshin Andreas
- 12:05 MST: May and June 2008 Monthly Data Sets & Reports for ECSU and BSC have been generated. -Afshin Andreas
- 12:49 MST: The SRRL Global LI-1800 Spectroradiometer was removed from the horizontal position at 11:46 MST and moved back to the 40-south position at 12:14 MST today. -Afshin Andreas
- 11:55 MST: The SRRL AOCS Global Horizontal, Global Tilt, and Direct Normal instruments were calibrated on 6/13/2008. New factors were entered into data acquisition software at 10:29 MST today. -Afshin Andreas
- 11:53 MST: The SRRL BMS Global CM3 (on CNR1 at Radiometer tower) was calibrated using BORCAL 2008-02 reference data. New cal factor was entered in the logger @ 10:03 MST today. -Afshin Andreas
- 07:53 MST: The following SRRL BMS instruments on the radiometer tower were swapped out yesterday between 11:24 to 11:51 MST with instruments that were calibrated in BORCAL 2008-01 and 2008-02: Global 90-West/East/North (Both PSP and LI-200) and the Global Normal CM21. The new calibration factors were entered into the logger yesterday at 11:45 MST. -Afshin Andreas
- 08:48 MST: The SRRL BSRN Diffuse PSP and Direct NIP were replaced today with instruments that was calibrated in BORCAL 2008-01 and 2008-02. Logger was updated with new cal factor today @ 8:19 MST -Afshin Andreas
- 07:27 MST: The following SRRL BMS instruments were swapped out yesterday between 15:36 to 15:43 MST with instruments that were calibrated in BORCAL 2008-01: Global PSP RG780, Direct NIP RG780, Diffuse PSP Shadowband, Diffuse PSP, & Diffuse 8-48. The new calibration factors were entered into the logger yesterday at 15:46 MST. This also included an a new calibration factor for the Global CM22, which was calibrated in BORCAL 2008-02. -Afshin Andreas
- 14:10 MST: The daily total of global and direct irradiance has been added to the SRRL BMS Instantaneous Data Display and Download. Note: These are only available to specific internal NREL users. -Afshin Andreas
- 12:02 MST: A new "Daily Statistics" radio button is now available on the live and daily data page for any MIDC station. The daily statistics will generate daily totals (for irradiance data) and daily averages (for meteorological data) using the selected input data for the entire day(s). The daily maximum and minimum (if applicable) will also be generated. -Afshin Andreas
- 07:32 MST: The Lowry Range Solar Station (LRSS) has been added to the MIDC. Data is available since May 30, 2008. -Afshin Andreas
- 13:07 MST: The daily totals of global, direct, and diffuse irradiance have been added to the XECS, ECSU, NPCS, and UNLV live graphical displays. -Afshin Andreas
- 07:48 MST: There is a problem with the SRRL BMS Global TSP-700 since May 29. The signal occasionally drops low, problem will be investigated. -Afshin Andreas
- 09:53 MST: The SRRL Global LI-1800 Spectroradiometer was returned to service today @ 9:50 MST. The motor/gear box for the grating drive was replaced. Calibration was verified after replacement. -Afshin Andreas
- 10:06 MST: The daily accumulated irradiation of global and direct has been added to the SRRL BMS Live Display. -Afshin Andreas
- 09:09 MST: The SRRL BSRN Global PSP was replaced today with an instrument that was calibrated in BORCAL 2008-01. Logger was updated with new cal factor today @ 8:33 MST. -Afshin Andreas
- 09:08 MST: The following SRRL BMS shortwave instruments (both PSP & LI-200) were swapped out today with instruments that were calibrated in BORCAL 2008-01: 40-South, 90-South, and Upwelling. Logger was updated with new cal factors on today @ 8:07 MST. -Afshin Andreas
- 14:28 MST: The following SRRL BMS instruments were calibrated in BORCAL 2008-01: Global Horizontals: CM6b, PSP (ventilated), PSP, TSP-700, TSP-1, SP-Lite, PYR-P, LI-200, SPN1; Direct Normals: CH1, NIP #2, NIP #1, LI-201; Diffuse CM22, SPN1. Logger program was updated at 12:44 MST today with new cal factors. Responsivity Coefficients for Global PSPs were updated at 13:50 MST today. -Afshin Andreas
- 14:26 MST: The SRRL BMS Global CM22 and Diffuse CM22 instruments were swapped between approx 12:30 to 13:00 MST today. The cal factors were updated in the logger at 12:44 MST. -Afshin Andreas
- 10:21 MST: April 2008 Monthly Data Sets & Reports/Plots for SRRL BMS have been generated. -Afshin Andreas
- 09:45 MST: April 2008 Monthly Data Sets & Reports for ECSU and BSC have been generated. -Afshin Andreas
- 07:56 MST: The SRRL Global LI-1800 Spectroradiometer has failed. The internal gears are not working properly. The last scan occured on April 25 @ 9:05 MST. -Afshin Andreas
- 13:26 MST: The SRRL BMS TWC 500nm Photometer was calibrated on April 14, 2008, the new Vo factor was entered into the post-dataprocessing system at 13:20 MST today. -Afshin Andreas
- 08:40 MST: The SRRL BMS Upwelling CG3 was calibrated on 4/17/08, new coefficients were entered into the logger today @ 8:38 MST. -Afshin Andreas
- 09:30 MST: Weeds were removed from the SRRL BMS snow depth sensor plate, which had been causing bogus readings since April 19. However, the plate needs to be re-centered to prevent future weed growth. -Afshin Andreas
- 09:02 MST: March 2008 Monthly Data Sets & Reports for ECSU and BSC have been generated. -Afshin Andreas
- 08:57 MST: March 2008 Monthly Data Sets & Reports/Plots for SRRL BMS have been generated. -Afshin Andreas
- 12:25 MST: The SRRL BMS Global Quantum sensor went faulty on April 3, 2008. The bad sensor (S/N Q8435) was replaced with a spare sensor (S/N Q8432) today @ 12:11 MST. The replacement sensor is using the typical LI-190 response for the calibration factor and may need recalibration. -Afshin Andreas
- 14:58 MST: The SRRL BMS Downwelling PIR (s/n 31192F3) was calibrated on 4/13/2008, new coefficients were entered into the logger today @ 14:56 MST -Afshin Andreas
- 11:08 MST: All SRRL BMS and AOCS Quantum (PAR) and Photometric sensors were calibrated on 4/14/2008, this includes: BMS LI-190 (global and upwelling), BMS LI-210, AOCS LI-190 (global, tilt, and direct). Loggers were updated today at 10:55 (BMS) and 10:49 MST (AOCS). -Afshin Andreas
- 14:51 MST: All SRRL BMS Direct UV instruments were calibrated on 4-4-2008, this includes: CUVA2 and CUVB2. New cal factors were entered into the logger @ 14:49 MST today. -Afshin Andreas
- 13:07 MST: The SRRL Global Horizontal LI-1800 Spectroradiometer was removed from service @ 9:47 MST, calibrated against NIST F597, and returned to service @ 12:58 MST today. -Afshin Andreas
- 15:21 MST: YESDAQ is unable to collect images from the SRRL TSI-800 since 9:31 MST today, problem unknown. Cloud cover data and images is currently unavailable. -Afshin Andreas
- 14:52 MST: The SRRL BMS CG4 and PIR (s/n 31194F3) were calibrated on 3/16/2008. The Downwelling and Upwelling PIRs were swapped today between 14:21 to 14:25. New coefficeints for the CG4 and Upwelling PIR were entered into the logger at 14:29 MST today. -Afshin Andreas
- 09:17 MST: The SRRL BMS Downwelling CG3 was calibrated on 3/16/2008, new coefficients were entered into the logger today @ 9:10 MST. -Afshin Andreas
- 10:16 MST: All SRRL BMS Global & Diffuse UV instruments were calibrated on 10-26-2007, this includes: UV-S-B-T, CUVB1, MS210W, UVB-1 (global & diffuse), 501A, UV-S-A-T, CUVA1, and TUVR (global). New cal factors were entered into the logger @ 9:55 MST today. -Afshin Andreas
- 07:24 MST: January and February 2008 Monthly Data Sets & Reports for ECSU and BSC have been generated. -Afshin Andreas
- 14:01 MST: January and February 2008 Monthly Data Sets & Reports/Plots for SRRL BMS have been generated. -Afshin Andreas
- 14:00 MST: The 2006 and 2007 monthly data sets for SRRL BMS have been reprocessed to accommodate the removal of the EKO MS-110 and the addition of the ΔT SPN1. Affected monthly data sets include: Quality assessed data, reports, and flag summaries. -Afshin Andreas
- 08:59 MST: There is a problem with the SRRL AOCS that started on December 28, 2007. The output from all the photometers is very low (in the noise). As a result the instrument is no longer producing spectral data. -Afshin Andreas
- 12:40 MST: The SRRL BMS data logger history has been added to the bottom of the instrument history page. -Afshin Andreas
- 11:08 MST: Due to the failed Direct NIP and/or tracker at Bluefield State University (BSC), a new data stream configuration, starting 1-JAN-2006, has been created that does not include this instrument. -Afshin Andreas
- 10:30 MST: Data from Humboldt State University (HSU) is now available on the MIDC. The data starts on March 8, 2007, but new data may not be updated for several weeks, until the station gets a phone modem or network link. -Afshin Andreas
- 08:35 MST: Made minor adjustment to SRRL BMS valid quality range for snow depth and extended repeated value time. -Afshin Andreas
- 15:15 MST: The SRRL BMS data stream has been upgraded to version 10.4. Two "spare" channels were replaced with Global and Diffuse as measured by a new ΔT SPN1 Sunshine Pyranometer. This instrument was previously located on research channels. Historical data was modified to make this change effective January 1, 2008. -Afshin Andreas
- 16:29 MST: The NWTC M2 data collection is currently down as of 14:54 MST today, due to communications problem with the data logger. -Afshin Andreas
- 13:32 MST: The SRRL Global LI-1800 spectral data had been down since Jan 11, 2008 due to two broken pins in the RS-232 connector. The two pins were fixed on today at 13:12 MST. -Afshin Andreas
- 12:30 MST: The NWTC M2 dew point sensor was replaced with a new sensor on Jan 9, 2008 @ 8:30 MST. -Afshin Andreas
- 10:39 MST: September through December 2007 Monthly Data Sets & Reports for ECSU and BSC have been generated. -Afshin Andreas
- 09:59 MST: September through December 2007 Monthly Data Sets & Reports/Plots for SRRL BMS have been generated. -Afshin Andreas
- 11:19 MST: Data Quality Statements (DQS) were created for a scheduled SRRL/Mesa Top power outage on 12/22/2007. Affected SRRL instruments were: TSP-1, TSP-700, All Global UVA and UVB, TWC Photometer, Cloud Cover, and the AOCS. -Afshin Andreas
- 10:52 MST: Data Quality Statements (DQS) have been created for the SRRL Sci-Tec Tracker #2 intermittent alignment problems from 11/5/2007 through 1/3/2008, which affected the following instruments: AOCS, Diffuse CM22, Diffuse UVB-1, Shaded CG4. -Afshin Andreas
- 14:43 MST: SRRL BMS Sci-Tec Tracker #2 home to:
AOCS, Diffuse CM22, Diffuse UVB-1, Shaded CG4, Global LI-190 was removed from service for repairs from 1/2/2008 0930MST to 1/3/2008 1230MST. -Pete Gotseff
- 11:36 MST: The SRRL Global LI-1800 Spectral data has been down for several weeks, due to a broken RS-232 communcation cable or connector. -Afshin Andreas
- 11:11 MST: The internal MIDC web server has been upgraded to a Dell PowerEdge 1900 Dual Quad Core (8 processor) 2.33 GHz Xeon. -Afshin Andreas
