- 11:01 MST: An Instrument QA page for the SRRL BMS Global TSP-1 was created. -Afshin Andreas
- 13:50 MST: The SRRL BMS Global TSP-1 was moved to a different table at 10:32 MST. The instrument is now reading over 100 W/m2 too high. No problem was found with the new signal cabling or channel. Instrument has an unknown problem. -Afshin Andreas
- 13:47 MST: The SRRL BMS Upwelling PSP was removed at 11:41 MST, so that a larger mounting plate could be made. -Afshin Andreas
- 08:05 MST: The SRRL BMS AM 416 Multiplexer #1 (attached to the CR23X) was upgraded to the newer model AM 16/32, between 7:30 and 8:00 MST today, approx 32 signals will report missing or bogus values during that time. -Afshin Andreas
- 12:06 MST: The MIDC Directory has been updated to include the station start date and the current number of data outputs. -Afshin Andreas
- 10:46 MST: Sci-Tec tracker #2 has been reset and is operating correctly as of 0845MST. -Pete Gotseff
- 10:43 MST: Sci-Tec tracker #2 failed to reset beginning Sat 13 Dec. affecting the following instruments:
Direct MS-110, AOCS, Diffuse CM22, Diffuse UVB-1, Shaded CG4, Global LI-190 -Pete Gotseff - 10:37 MST: A new option on the "Live Data & Plots" page is now available (for any site), which allows the user to create a customized current conditions display with only instruments that have been selected by the user. -Afshin Andreas
- 10:46 MST: November 2003 Monthly Data Sets & Reports for ECSU and BSC have been generated. -Afshin Andreas
- 10:02 MST: November 2003 Monthly Data Sets & Reports for SRRL BMS have been generated. -Afshin Andreas
- 07:49 MST: The BMS Downwelling PIR cable was replaced yesterday between 11:35 and 11:50 MST. -Afshin Andreas
- 08:37 MST: The SRRL RSP was repaired on Nov 24 @ ~12:00 MST. -Afshin Andreas
- 11:45 MST: The NWTC M2 Instrument Page has been updated with the new W/S S/N & CF and W/D S/N information. -Afshin Andreas
- 11:35 MST: The NWTC M2 tower was returned to service today @ 9:45 MST. The old sensors had damage as follows: 5 of 6 cups were destroyed and 3 of 6 vanes were destroyed. The new calibration factors for the wind speed sensors were entered into the CR23X data logger @ 11:25 MST. -Afshin Andreas
- 07:51 MST: The NWTC M2 tower was lowered today @ 07:32 MST for wind speed and direction change out. All W/S, W/D, and Temp @ 50m & 80m will be out of service during this time. -Afshin Andreas
- 16:18 MST: The change in sample rates and output resolution for the SRRL BMS dataloggers is now documented at the bottom of the BMS Instrument History page. -Afshin Andreas
- 13:34 MST: The SRRL BMS Downwelling PIR was re-connected on Nov 7 @ ~16:30 MST using the old cable (new cabling needs to be purchased). The problem seems to have disappeared. -Afshin Andreas
- 12:00 MST: The wireless ethernet at NWTC M2 seems to be working again as of 10:30 today, data collection is now up to date. -Afshin Andreas
- 08:58 MST: The SRRL BMS CR23X logger execution was changed from 4 seconds to 3 seconds, due to improvement of thermistor measurements. -Afshin Andreas
- 07:37 MST: The NWTC M2 Wind Direction Sensor @ 2m has been damaged since Nov 2. -Afshin Andreas
- 08:07 MST: The ECSU Direct NIP stopped working on Oct. 14, problem is likely due to failed tracker. -Afshin Andreas
- 08:05 MST: The SRRL RSP failed on Oct 30, the shadowband is no longer functioning. -Afshin Andreas
- 08:04 MST: No data collection from NWTC M2 has occured since November 6 @ 15:35 MST, due to failure of the wireless ethernet system at the M2 shed. NREL has been doing wireless security upgrades/testing that has been creating intermitten down times for atleast a month. -Afshin Andreas
- 10:47 MST: The SRRL BMS Downwelling PIR has been disconnected today @ 7:55 MST, for cable repair. It was found that a problem with the instrument cable was loading the PIR Case Temperature causing it read approx 2o C high. - 07:42 MST: There is a problem with the SRRL BMS Downwelling PIR since October 30 @ 4:00 MST. Irradiance is about 50 W/m2 too high. -Afshin Andreas
- 11:18 MST: Dew Point Temperature has been added to the SRRL BMS Display. This is a calculation based on temperature & humidity and will only appear on the display (not in the data stream at this time). -Afshin Andreas
- 13:45 MST: The SRRL BMS Global UV Radiometers were calibrated on Oct 29. The new calibration factors were entered into the logger program today @ 13:07 MST. The BMS Instrument history page has been updated. -Afshin Andreas
- 11:30 MST: October 2003 Monthly Data Sets & Reports for SRRL BMS, ECSU, and BSC have been generated. -Afshin Andreas
- 15:05 MST: The SRRL BMS Global UVB-1 was removed for service today @ 8:30 MST. The Diffuse UVB-1 was removed and installed in the Global position @ approx 11:00 MST. The cal factor in the datalogger program was updated @ 13:04 MST. -Afshin Andreas
- 08:44 MST: The GFI on the SRRL BMS Sun-Follower III Tracker tripped before sunrise today. The tracker was reset today at approx 8:00MST. -Pete Gotseff
- 14:58 MST: September 2003 Monthly Data Sets & Reports for SRRL BMS, ECSU, and BSC have been generated. -Afshin Andreas
- 10:14 MST: The GFI on the SRRL BMS Sun-Follower III Tracker tripped before sunrise today. The tracker was reset today at approx 10:00 MST. -Afshin Andreas
- 08:41 MST: The GFI on the SRRL BMS Sun-Follower III Tracker tripped on Sept 14 @ 4:49 MST. The tracker was reset today @ 7:46 MST. -Afshin Andreas
- 09:45 MST: August 2003 Monthly Data Sets & Reports for SRRL BMS, ECSU, and BSC have been generated. -Afshin Andreas
- 09:15 MST: The following SRRL BMS instruments were swapped today between approx 7:30 to 8:30 MST with instruments that were calibrated in BORCAL 2003-01: PSP Upwelling, PSP Diffuse Shadowband, PSP Global 40-South, 8-48 Diffuse, CM21 Global Normal, LI-200 Global 40-South. All calibration factors were updated in the logger today @ 8:09 MST. -Afshin Andreas
- 06:54 MST: The SRRL AOCS was fixed yesterday at 12:00 MST. The power cable was replaced. -Afshin Andreas
- 09:37 MST: The SRRL BMS Direct TUVR signal has been dropping out since Aug 24. -Afshin Andreas
- 07:04 MST: The SRRL BMS Global TUVR signal has been dropping out since Aug 12. -Afshin Andreas
- 14:25 MST: The SRRL Direct LI-1800 has failed again, last collection was at 17:15 MST on Aug 3. -Afshin Andreas
- 14:24 MST: The SRRL AOCS has been putting out bogus data since July 30 @ 8:50 MST. Problem is unknown at this time. -Afshin Andreas
- 14:21 MST: All the SRRL BMS Monthly Data Sets & Reports for July 2003 have been generated. -Afshin Andreas
- 14:07 MST: ECSU and BSC Monthly Data & Reports for July 2003 have been generated. -Afshin Andreas
- 06:59 MST: The SRRL Direct LI-1800 is functional as of July 28 @ 11:50 MST. The unit was left off overnight and restarted the next day to get it working again. -Afshin Andreas
- 06:50 MST: The SRRL Direct LI-1800 spectroradiometer has failed (lost communications), problem unknown at this time. Last scan occured on July 18 @ 19:25 MST. -Afshin Andreas
- 10:57 MST: The SRRL BMS Instrument History Page has been updated with the new calibration factors entered today. -Afshin Andreas
- 09:10 MST: SRRL BMS Calibration Factors for the Global PSP (Vent): RS@45 (single factor) and Responsivity Function (zenith corrected) which were calibrated in BORCAL 2003-01, were updated in the post-processing DAQ system today @ 8:49 MST. -Afshin Andreas
- 09:07 MST: SRRL BMS Calibration Factors for the following instruments which were calibrated in BORCAL 2003-01, were updated in the datalogger today @ 8:03 MST: Global Instruments: CM6b, PSP, TSP-1, SP-Lite, LI-200 #1, LI-200 #2; Direct Instruments: CH1, NIP #1, NIP #2, LI201SB; Diffuse Instruments: CM22, PSP. -Afshin Andreas
- 07:46 MST: ECSU and BSC Monthly Data & Reports for June 2003 have been generated. -Afshin Andreas
- 07:28 MST: All the SRRL BMS Monthly Data Sets & Reports for June 2003 have been generated. -Afshin Andreas
- 06:40 MST: The SRRL AOCS stopped functioning (all output values were zero and no spectral data) on July 2 @ 15:30 MST. The system is now functional as of sunrise today (the AOCS Tattletale datalogger was power cycled yesterday afternoon). -Afshin Andreas
- 06:52 MST: The shading balls on the BMS Diffuse PSP & CM22 were put back into service on July 3 @ 8:20 MST. -Afshin Andreas
- 09:59 MST: The SRRL BSRN datalogger was upgraded from a CR10 (standard memory size) to a CR10X (w/ 1 MB of extended memory) today @ 9:46 MST. This should prevent future data loss. Note: The original CR10 wiring panel was used. -Afshin Andreas
- 09:40 MST: The modem failed on the MIDC Data Acquisition System on Friday 6/13/2003 at 16:32 MST. The system required a hard boot to get the modem working again. Data was lost from SRRL BSRN from 6/13 @ 16:31 MST to 6/14 @ 16:40 MST, due to the limited memory size in BSRN's CR10. -Afshin Andreas
- 15:45 MST: The SRRL LI-1800 Direct Spectroradiometer is now functional as of today @ 15:35 MST. The battery was replaced in the unit. -Afshin Andreas
- 12:34 MST: ECSU and BSC Monthly Data and Reports for May 2003 have been generated. -Afshin Andreas
- 12:23 MST: All the SRRL BMS Monthly Data Sets & Reports for May 2003 have been generated. -Afshin Andreas
- 06:49 MST: The BMS April 2003 monthly data sets has been updated due to the correction of the diffuse shadowband data that was fixed for days listed in May 20, 2003 news item. Affected data sets were: Monthly QA Data (ZIP), Monthly Report (TXT), Full flag summary (TXT), Flag summary table (TXT), and the Diffuse PSP Shadowband Report (PDF). -Afshin Andreas
- 08:13 MST: The BMS Diffuse Shadowband daily raw data has been corrected for days listed in May 20, 2003 news item. -Afshin Andreas
- 14:26 MST: The cal factor for the BMS Diffuse Shadowband was mistakenly replaced with the previous factor on April 18 @ 7:04 MST. The factor was corrected today @ 14:10 MST. The historical data will be corrected sometime in the near future. -Afshin Andreas
- 08:44 MST: The NWTC M2 Display software was recompiled using LabWindows 6.0, the display now uses National Instruments new "Lab Style Controls." -Afshin Andreas
- 15:31 MST: The x/y plotting engine (GNUPlot 3.7.3) has been upgraded and all MIDC plots are now output as a PNG instead of a GIF, the images sizes are can be up to six times smaller. Affected plots are: live/daily, solar calendars, site comparison, spectral data, and monthly/yearly plots. -Afshin Andreas
- 14:42 MST: The C++ source code for the Wind Roses and EKO Sky Scanner Plots have been recompiled using the latest version of GD. The new code will output PNG images which are up to five times smaller that the simple run length encoding (non-LZW) GIF images that were generated in the old version. -Afshin Andreas
- 13:04 MST: A MIDC Directory (or site index) has been created. -Afshin Andreas
- 09:34 MST: The Plot Option for the BMS Yearly Data & Plots is now available. -Afshin Andreas
- 14:23 MST: The SRRL BMS Diffuse PSP & CM22 have been disconnected from the CR23X and shorted at the MUX (output is zero), to reduce confusion (see May 2 news item). -Afshin Andreas
- 13:46 MST: All the SRRL BMS Monthly Data Sets & Reports for April 2003 have been generated. -Afshin Andreas
- 12:36 MST: ECSU and BSC Monthly Data and Reports for April 2003 have been generated. -Afshin Andreas
- 10:25 MST: Fixed a bug with the Site Comparison plots that would display a "Plot output is empty" message, when the user selected a negative irradiance instrument (such as net infrared). -Afshin Andreas
- 14:14 MST: The shading balls from the SRRL BMS Diffuse PSP & CM-22 were removed today @ 13:52 MST, so that they can be calibrated in BORCAL 2003-01. -Afshin Andreas
- 15:09 MST: The NWTC M2 Global PSP was changed with a calibrated instrument today @ 14:00 MST, the cal factor was updated in the logger @ 15:04 MST. -Afshin Andreas

- 07:11 MST: The BMS Instruments page was updated to describe the calculation of Net Radiation and Net Infrared (atmos.). -Afshin Andreas
- 12:49 MST: SRRL BMS Yearly Data and Plots can now be generated using statistics extracted from monthly reports. Note: The Plot option is not available at this time. -Afshin Andreas
- 07:06 MST: The BMS Diffuse 8-48 was replaced with a calibrated instrumented today @ 6:49 MST, the cal factor was updated in the logger @ 7:04 MST. -Afshin Andreas
- 14:04 MST: The orignal MIDC Data Acquisition System was restored today @ 9:59 MST. The SRRL AOCS was returned to operation @ 10:21 MST and the SRRL Global 40 LI-1800 @ 13:20 MST. -Afshin Andreas
- 08:05 MST: There was a hard disk failure on the MIDC Data Acquistion System on Saturday April 12 @ 14:33 MST. A temporary acquisition system was put in place on Monday April 14 @ 8:00 MST. Data from all stations are now up to date, with the exception of the SRRL AOCS and SRRL LI-1800s (they will have to wait until the original acquistion system is restored.) -Afshin Andreas
- 10:19 MST: The BMS Diffuse ShadowBand PSP was replaced with a calibrated instrument today @ 10:07 MST. Cal factor was updated in the logger @ 10:17 MST. -Afshin Andreas
- 14:21 MST: SRRL BSRN has been changed from 10 minute updates to 15 minute updates. SPMD has been changed from 3 hour updates to 2 hour updates. -Afshin Andreas
- 13:13 MST: The following BMS instruments were replaced with calibrated instruments between 12:15 and 13:06 MST: Global 40-South PSP, Upwelling PSP, and Global Normal CM-21. Calibration factors were updated in the logger @ 12:54 MST. -Afshin Andreas
- 13:07 MST: The BMS MS-110 photometer is noisy again today. -Afshin Andreas
- 15:05 MST: The BMS MS-110 photometer head and converter box was disassembled and reassembled at 14:00 MST; and the noise problem disappeared. The MS-110 QA Page has been updated to indicate the problem. -Afshin Andreas
- 11:49 MST: There is a problem with the SRRL BMS EKO MS110 Photometer, all (4) channels have been noisy since Nov 25, 2002. -Afshin Andreas
- 09:09 MST: The (2) PSPs and (1) NIP at SRRL BSRN were replaced with calibrated instruments between 8:10 and 8:22 MST today. The calibration factors were updated in the logger today @ 9:19 MST as shown in the instrument history page. -Afshin Andreas
- 08:15 MST: All the SRRL BMS Monthly Data Sets & Reports for March 2003 have been generated. -Afshin Andreas
- 07:37 MST: ECSU and BSC Monthly Data and Reports for March 2003 have been generated. -Afshin Andreas
- 16:20 MST: All the SRRL BMS Monthly Data Sets & Reports for February 2003 have been generated. -Afshin Andreas

- 14:03 MST: A new MIDC feature for the Live/Daily Data & Plots which allows the conversion from metric to english for the meteorological data is now available. Note: The conversion only applies to selected data or plots and has no effect on irradiance data, wind roses, raw or custom data. -Afshin Andreas
- 16:14 MST: A MIDC Links page is now available. -Afshin Andreas
- 08:48 MST: The BMS Global TUVR is having problems again. The signal has been low or erratic since Feb 3. -Afshin Andreas
- 15:11 MST: All the SRRL BMS Monthly Data Sets & Reports for January 2003 have been generated. -Afshin Andreas
- 16:29 MST: As of today, the data format for RCS has been changed and all historical data was re-processed to reflect this change. The following calculations have been added to the RCS datastream: Broadband AOD (based on NIP-A and NIP-B), Zenith & Azimuth Angles, and relative optical airmass. The addition of zenith angle allowed for the "3rd component calculation" to be enabled for this site. -Afshin Andreas
- 13:17 MST: Both PIRs at ARM RCS were changed on 1/28/2003 @ 14:20 CST. The cal. factors were updated in the CR23x program today @ 14:11 CST. -Afshin Andreas
- 10:04 MST: A new feature has been added to the MIDC, which allows the user to download a single raw data record of the most recent data collection from any site. The feature is available by using the "Live raw data" option on the "Live data & plots" page for any site. -Afshin Andreas
- 11:44 MST: Pictures of the ARM RCS has been added to the web site. -Afshin Andreas
- 10:12 MST: The BMS Global TUVR was replaced with a another instrument on Jan 27 @ 10:30 MST, which seems to have fixed the problem. The BMS TUVR QA Page has been updated to reflect this. -Afshin Andreas
- 11:00 MST: The SRRL EKO MS300LR SkyScanner has been permanently removed from service. Last data collection occurred on Oct 28, 2002 @ 17:45 MST. -Afshin Andreas
- 12:50 MST: The calibration factors for the new wind speed sensors at NWTC M2 were updated in the logger today @ 12:40 MST. -Afshin Andreas
- 11:46 MST: The ARM Radiometer Characterization System (RCS) has been added to the MIDC Web Site. Data is available since January 13, 2003. -Afshin Andreas
- 07:28 MST: There is a problem with the BMS Global TUVR which started on Jan 17 @ 13:00 MST. Signal is low or erratic. -Afshin Andreas
- 07:46 MST: The NWTC M2 tower was down for maintenance on Jan. 14 from 11:30 to 13:30 MST. The Wind Speed & Direction sensors were replaced. -Afshin Andreas
- 14:38 MST: All the SRRL BMS Monthly Data Sets & Reports for December 2002 have been generated. -Afshin Andreas
