- 14:03 MST: The SRRL Sky Cam is temporarily INSIDE the new SRRL building, it will be mounted OUTSIDE on the new instrument deck soon. -Afshin Andreas
- 13:37 MST: The SRRL Web Server has been installed in the new SRRL building. The BMS datalogger was temporarily placed on a modem, updates will occur every 10 minutes until the BMS instruments have been moved to the new building. -Afshin Andreas

- 07:08 MST: The BMS Data/Instrument Quality Assesments (QA) page has been created. This lists known instrument problems and/or summaries of our data quality assessments, since September 1998. The statements have been catagorized by instrument. -Afshin Andreas

- 08:40 MST: I installed an ND 2.0 filter between the web cam and the fish eye lens to help reduce the intensity of the sun. -Afshin Andreas
- 09:47 MST: The BSRN Direct Normal Tracker is not following the sun, I unplugged its power at 9:30 MST for repair. -Afshin Andreas
- 11:04 MST: When viewing a daily plot or wind rose, the user can now jump to the previous/next day, month, or year using original parameters submitted. -Afshin Andreas
- 09:23 MST: The Sky Cam Gallery is now available, after selecting a range of dates and/or times the user is presented with clickable thumbnails. -Afshin Andreas
- 07:28 MST: The user can now recall historical snap shots (taken every hour) from the Sky Cam page, by selecting previous hour or previous day. A thumbnail clickable image gallery will be available soon. -Afshin Andreas

- 13:28 MST: I have designed, built, and setup the new SRRL Full Sky All Weather Web Cam, you can see the current cloud conditions at any time. The system consists of a 3Com HomeConnect USB Web Cam and a Nikon 180 degree fish eye lense, housed in a weatherproof container with a clear plastic dome. Historical images will be available soon. -Afshin Andreas

This site includes "Live" (updated every 1-hour) and Daily Data & Plots, Solar Calendars, and Instrument descriptions. This data set consists of 5-Min data from 4 instruments and is available from January 8, 1991. -Afshin Andreas
- 09:16 MST: The South Park Mountain Data (SPMD) web site has been added to our web server. This site includes "Live" (updated every 3-hours) and Daily Data & Plots, Solar Calendars, and Instrument descriptions. This data set consists of 5-Min data from 3 instruments and is available from March 28, 1997. -Afshin Andreas
- 10:30 MST: The user can now specify a range of dates on the "Daily plots & raw data files" page. Note: The selection of an end date only applies to selected or full raw data. Plots and wind roses can only be generated one day at a time using the start date. -Afshin Andreas
- 11:26 MST: The SRRL BSRN web site has been added to our web server. This site includes "Live" (updated every hour) and Daily Data & Plots, Solar Calendars, and Instrument descriptions. This data set consists of 1-Min data from 5 instruments and is available from January 29, 1999. -Afshin Andreas

- 12:02 MST: We are studying the barometric pressure measurements after noticing some peculiar step changes and small noise levels during 5 to 10 minute intervals. Watch for future news item on this subject. Long term (20 to 30 minutes) trends are consistent with independent measurements we have made. -Tom Stoffel

- 11:00 MST: The maximum value for the quality assessment test of the Upwelling IR was increased from 500 to 650 W/m2 and the monthly data and flag table/chart for June 1999 was regenerated. -Afshin Andreas
- 13:40 MST: Monthly data set, cylinder plots, qcfit plots, and flag table/chart for June 1999 have been generated. -Afshin Andreas
- 12:00 MST: Wind rose for June 1999 has been generated. -Afshin Andreas
- 13:17 MST: SRRL has upgraded to its own dedicated server. The "live", daily, and solar calendars have been redesigned and are available for all historical data (since April 8, 1985). All plots are now generated "on-the-fly", instead of being permenently generated by another PC. There is also an instrument history and descriptions page that lists the install and removal dates for all instruments since 1985. Note: Historical wind roses, quality assessed monthly data, and SRRL pictures will remain in their old locations on the RReDC. Note: The server may seem slower than the RReDC, this is due to the slow ethernet connection that exists in the current SRRL building. The ethernet line should be upgraded by the end of the year and there should be a significant speed increase. -Afshin Andreas

- 08:00 MST: The inverted pyrgeometer for measuring the upwelling longwave irradiance was installed incorrectly. The thermopile output polarity has been mistakenly reversed since 12 January 1999. The resulting data from this instrument severely underestimates the upwelling infrared irradiance and should be ignored. The problem was corrected today by 08:00 MST. -Tom Stoffel

- 09:43 MST: The Downwelling and Upwelling IR monthly reports for January and February 1999 contained zeros for nightime values, these reports have been regenerated to show correct values. -Afshin Andreas

- 14:44 MST: The Direct Normal Total Ultraviolet Radiometer (TUVR) s/n 18115 was returned to service. The instrument was sent to The Eppley Laboratory, Inc. for repair and calibration following discovery of intermittent signals last month. -Tom Stoffel
- 13:19 MST: The CR23X program was modified to add two output fields related to our Pyranometer Zero-Offset Study. The last two data elements are the Downwelling PIR (ventilated, under tracking disk) Dome and Case Temperatures. These thermistor values are 1-minute averages of 2-second samples in degrees Kelvin. -Tom Stoffel

- 11:34 MST: Measurements of the direct normal ultraviolet radiation are suspect after March 3, 1999 due to an instrument problem. The Model TUVR was removed on March 9, 1999 at 13:23 MST for repair and recalibration. The signal was shorted until a replacement radiometer could be installed. -Tom Stoffel
- 13:30 MST: The Historical monthly data page now includes two QCFit plots, which show a graphical representation of where the data lie in a K-space region. Notice: Plot #1 is available from January 1997 and plot #2 from January 1999. -Afshin Andreas

- 11:25 MST: The underground signal cable between the 10 meter tall meteorological tower and the data acquisition system building was replaced due to construction associated with the New SRRL. The wind speed, wind direction, and tower temperature data are not to be used from 11:25 MST and 14:25 MST today. A new cable in above-ground conduit will be maintained for these instruments until the construction is completed this summer. A new meteorological tower, about 300 ft north of the present tower, will be instrumented at three levels for improved wind resource information as part of the New SRRL development. -Tom Stoffel

- 08:00 MST: Site preparation began today for the construction of a New SRRL! An energy efficient building will replace the existing surplus shelters comprising SRRL. In addition to the solar and meteorological measurement functions now performed at SRRL, the new building will house a Metrology Lab, Optics Lab and Electronics Lab. The 2,500 sq ft metal structure will be built directly north of the existing SRRL. Immediately west of the new building will be a new instrument platform providing work space for outdoor radiometer calibrations and automatic solar trackers for research applications. -Tom Stoffel
- 10:50 MST: The two longwave (infrared) pyrgeometers are now operational. All data prior to this time is incorrect and cannot be fixed. -Tom Stoffel
- 12:35 MST: All data files from 13 Jan 1999 (0:00 MST) to 19 Jan 1999 (8:19 MST) have been corrected due to the swapped calibration factors. Notice: The 6 Daily Global/Diffuse/Direct plots for these days (13th-18th) will not be corrected. -Afshin Andreas
- 11:00 MST: The Custom daily raw data page has been updated to support the new 1-min data. -Afshin Andreas
- 08:20 MST: The calibration factors for the Global Horizontal PSP and Direct Normal (Primary NIP) were corrected. The calibration factors were mistakenly exchanged in the datalogger program installed on 12 Jan 1999 as part of the conversion to 1-min data collection. -Tom Stoffel

- 15:15 MST: The Daily plots & raw data page is now up and running, plots for the new instruments will be added at a later date. There are two different raw data formats online at this time:
- 1-minute raw data field IDs for data after January 12, 1999
- 5-minute raw data field IDs for data prior to January 12, 1999
- 11:15 MST: The Live data & plots page is now up and running, updates occur every 5-minutes (from the 1-min data set). Will be upgrading to 1-minute updates soon. New instruments added to 1-minute data stream include:
